The iPhone line has grown so much that users themselves do not know why so many smartphones are needed and why each one is needed. But if last year there was an iPhone 13 mini for fans of compact devices, then in 2022, the iPhone 14 Plus appeared instead – exactly the size of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, smartphones are actually different: there are more than enough differences. Of course, you will have to pay for some of the features of the Pro Max version, and quite a lot. iPhone 14 Plus design
The appearance of the Plus has undergone a major change: in fact, you have an iPhone 14 enlarged to 6.7 inches or an iPhone 13 Pro, but with two cameras on the back instead of three. The fact that the iPhone 14 Plus is similar to the 13 Pro Max is reminiscent not only of the large size, but also of Face ID in the form of a bang in front – just like last year’s model.

In addition, it is heavier than the iPhone 14 Plus by almost 37 grams, so cases from them are clearly not suitable.
Specifications of the iPhone 14 Pro
Despite the fact that both iPhones have OLED displays Super Retina XDR, there is a difference between them. For example, the 14 Pro Max has ProMotion technology, thanks to which the screen frequency changes to 120 Hz and it became possible to implement Always On Display. The resolution, by the way, is also slightly different: 2778 * 1284 for the iPhone 14 Plus versus 2796 * 129 for the 14 Pro Max. In addition, the display of the iPhone 14 Pro Max is noticeably brighter – 1600 nits versus 1200 nits. It turns out that the displays are not the same at all, and it’s quite difficult to notice the catch!
In addition, the iPhone 14 Plus received last year’s A15 Bionic chip, the power of which will be more than enough for the coming years. iPhone 14 Pro got a fresh A16 Bionic: it is noteworthy that at the presentation its performance was compared with the three-year-old A13 Bionic, so there really is an increase.
Especially engineers have worked on energy efficiency: despite the fact that Apple announced that the iPhone 14 Plus has the most powerful battery ever, the specifications still indicate that it works less than iPhone 14 Pro Max in different cases. However, everyone is well aware that the whole point is not in the battery, but in the new chip.
iPhone Pro Max Camera
Considering that the camera is the most important element in a smartphone for many, the most important ones are hidden here. differences between the new iPhones. The advantage is definitely on the side of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Which iPhone 14 to buy in 2022
So which iphone to choose? The iPhone 14 Plus was supposed to replace the iPhone 13 mini, which Apple will retire. True, the iPhone 14 Plus itself has not yet been released, and the compact mini has not been discontinued. In any case, the Plus is a stripped-down version of the Pro Max for those who want a big screen, powerful battery, and great hardware at an attractive price.
Cameras are not the 14 Plus’s strong point, perhaps it’s better to look at the iPhone 13 Pro Max than the 14 Pro Max: the characteristics are excellent and the price is pleasant – last year’s top-end iPhone is sold at a very nice price, cheaper than any 2022 model costs.
