iPhone is not only a great entertainment center, but also a great working tool. Those who are just starting their acquaintance with the Apple smartphone often make the mistake of using the iPhone. Especially, it happens at first, when many iPhone features not yet used at all 100. You can accidentally click on the wrong place, not lock the screen or do something wrong – this will not lead to sad consequences, because everything is solvable. On the contrary, from the outside it’s even funny when this happens – you have to learn a lot of interesting things about your smartphone. Today, we’re digging into iPhone features that new and even experienced users sometimes activate by mistake.
iPhone emergency call
Apple cares about its users, that’s a fact. Useful Apple Watch features, the recently appeared “Digital Legacy” and emergency contact – everything is implemented as cool and convenient as possible.
And the iPhone also has an emergency call feature that scares those who have not encountered it before: it is activated by long pressing the power button and one of the volume buttons. But this is not scary, but what happens when you accidentally press the power button five times in a row in the middle of the night: the siren is insanely scary, and when you wake up you don’t understand what happened. When you press iPhone makes an emergency call It’s better to turn it off so as not to scare anyone.
- Go to Settings.
- Select “Emergency Call – SOS”.
- Turn off the slider next to the “Five tap call” item.
How to turn off sound on iPhone
The iPhone still has a convenient mute key on the case, thanks to which you can put your smartphone into silent mode. But not everyone takes the risk of using it, especially when they first start using the iPhone. My mom still doesn’t turn off sound on iPhone, so as not to miss incoming calls: once she turned it off, missing as many as 25 incoming calls from work and did not understand why it happened. Comfortable, but it takes some time to get used to. What else can confuse a new user?
Double tap on iPhone
The Back Tap feature lets you double or triple tap to call up a set function: take a photo, open app for iPhone, control center and much more. Unfortunately, this ability often leads users into a stupor when they habitually tap on the back of the iPhone, after which something incomprehensible happens to the smartphone, for example, the camera opens, a photo is taken, the sound is turned off, or the flashlight turns on. How to disable or reassign?
- Go to Settings, select Accessibility.
- At the very bottom of the screen, select Back Touch.
- Assign an action to a double or triple tap. Activate “Not selected” if you don’t want to use it.
Shake on iPhone
Not so long ago I told you about the cool keyboard features in iOS, which allow you to type and edit text much faster. And you probably remember about shaking to cancel while entering text: a menu appears on the screen with the suggestion “Do not apply” or “Cancel”. If you do not want to use it, then it is better to turn it off so that the sign on the screen does not interfere.
- Go to Settings.
- Select Accessibility, Tap.
- Turn off the slider next to Shake to Undo.
iPhone notifications not coming
Users of our Telegram chat not so long ago complained that iPhone with iOS 15 just don’t get notifications. On previous versions of iOS, Do Not Disturb was often the cause, but now in most cases it is due to Focus, which can be accidentally activated in Control Center. So don’t be scared if you suddenly start use iPhone or you just suddenly stopped receiving notifications. Read more about this problem in our article.
Turn off alarm clock on iPhone
Another very strange problem that many users face is every morning alarm clock on iphone, although it does not exist. Most likely, the problem is in the Sleep mode, which you could accidentally activate in the “Alarm Clock”: it was supposed to help you get a good night’s sleep, but in the end it only hurts. In addition, the problem may lie in other applications: for example, online radio, where there is an alarm clock. Read more about how to deal with this issue here.
